COMP Cams® Ramps Up Involvement In 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour
COMP Cams® has big plans as main stage sponsor for the 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour
Well known for innovative performance products, COMP Cams® has become a recognizable presence on the annual Hot Rod Power Tour. The Hot Rod Power Tour is an annual event in which participants drive their performance vehicles through seven different U.S. cities over seven days, touring the country. This year’s trip runs from Saturday, June 5th to Saturday, June 12th, with stops in Newton, IA: Springfield, IL; DuQuoin, IL; Bowling Green, KY; Chattanooga, TN; Birmingham, AL; and Mobile, AL.
COMP Cams® is proud to be the main stage sponsor for the 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour. And while COMP® is the main sponsor, all COMP Performance Group™ companies, including COMP®, TCI®, RHS®, FAST™, ZEX™, Inglese™, Quarter Master® and Powerhouse®, will be represented at the CPG booth located next to the main stage on each stop of the tour. Technicians will be on hand to answer questions about any CPG products, make parts recommendations, as well as hand out literature and sell merchandise and apparel.
COMP Cams® will be holding several fun events and contests for both children and adults throughout the tour. Some of the week’s activities include coloring book and sidewalk chalk contests for children, and big wheel races and retainer stacking contests for adults. See the full COMP Performance Group™ schedule of events on the following page.
Due to popular demand, COMP Cams® has also brought back the Engine Builder Duel presented by Snap-On Tools. First run on the 2007 Power Tour, the Engine Builder Duel pits two, two-man teams head-to-head in an attempt to assemble and fire a Small Block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time. Armed with nothing but their wits, each team must run their completed engine for one full minute to be named the winner. The Engine Builder Duel will take place during the Bowling Green, KY; Chattanooga, TN; and Birmingham, AL event stops.
Winners from all COMP® contests will be rewarded with prize packages or gift certificates that will be presented each evening on the main stage by COMP® representatives. And as a thank you, the nearly three thousand Power Tour Long Haulers (those dedicated people who make the entire trip from beginning to end) will be presented with a special souvenir from the COMP Cams® booth.
